How to Prepare for Your One-Year Cake Smash Session

Your little one is turning ONE! A cake smash session is a fun way to celebrate this special milestone and capture all the smiles, giggles, and messy cake-covered moments.

1. Choose Your Theme

• You get to choose the theme for your little one's session! Let me know what you have in mind, and I'll help bring the vision to life.

2. Choose Your Location

You can choose between:

• Studio Session: Held in my home studio with a simple, styled setup.
• Outdoor Session: A fun outdoor session with a natural setting.

3. Cake & Props Are Included

• I will provide the cake and props for your session as long as I have at least 30 days notice.
• This gives me enough time to plan your theme, order the cake, and gather the perfect props.

4. Bring an Outfit

• Bring your little one's birthday outfit for the first part of the session. We can take some clean photos before the cake comes out.
• For the cake smash, choose something comfortable and easy to clean. A diaper cover, simple outfit, or just a cute little romper works great.

5. Let Baby Have a Little Fun

• Don't worry if your little one doesn't know what to do with the cake at first. Some babies dive right in, while others need a little encouragement. We'll let them explore the cake at their own pace!

6. Bring a Few Essentials

A few helpful things to pack:

• Extra clothes
• Wipes
• Diapers
• Baby's favorite snack or drink
• Any special birthday items you'd like included

7. Don't Stress About the Mess

• The mess is part of the fun! Cake on their hands, face, and clothes makes for some of the sweetest and funniest photos.

8. Most Importantly—Have Fun!

• This session is all about celebrating your baby's first birthday and capturing this exciting stage of life.
• Come ready to smile, laugh, and let your little one make a mess!
